Comfort and Joy

I love Christmas! And I’m lucky enough to have a lot of very happy memories around Christmas which means it remains a really lovely time of year for me.

However, there have also been times where the joy of those memories have been hard to access. Personal circumstances have sometimes meant that despite my strong personal belief in the hope that Christmas represents, that hope, that truth has felt a million miles from my experience.

I would hear the carols ringing out “tidings of comfort and joy”, I would believe the sentiment but just couldn’t connect.

I’ve rewritten the above carol to try to capture my own experience of what it can be like when we feel lost, for whatever reason, and what it’s like to feel so disconnected from all we believe.

See the link below, (not final version, full of dodgy bits; Abbey Road version available in time for Christmas 2016! πŸ˜‰πŸŽ…πŸΌ). Hope you enjoy.
